Retro Music Player
Pick a vintage handset, play the original mixtape, discover independent music or bring your own audio. Includes a queue, synchronized lyrics and four LCD colours.
The idea
A pocket music player inspired by vintage phones. Choose a Nokia 3310, Nokia 1100, Motorola RAZR V3 or Sony Ericsson W800i shell, then listen to an original four-track mixtape, discover independent music through Audius, or load your own audio files.
What I worked on
The player combines a working keypad, queue, shuffle and repeat, synchronized lyrics, four LCD colours and persistent handset preferences. Local audio stays in your browser for the current session. Online discovery depends on the provider and is not a complete commercial music catalogue.
Context & attribution
An independent tribute to classic phones, with original synthesized tracks and SVG cover art. The handset brands are not affiliated with this project. Discovered music and lyrics belong to their respective owners.
